They do not practice impartiality and ignoring the Equality Act.
Working long hours makes your back hurt. Majority of employees apart from the managers speak minimal English, so no hope for a decent conversation. The managers will look at you like you are less than a human, you are another easily replaceable low paid worker to them. God forbid you get sick, this people will replace you the following day. I would suggest, working there only if you are in desperate situation and need an emergency job for a short time. Unless you get lucky and one of the managers defends you, there is no hope for you.
If you are new in the UK and your spoken English is at very poor level, this job can be great start up for you in terms of earning money. Pros Get paid weekly, no special skills required to get hired. Cons Stressful, did put me off warehouse work forever unless I own one.
Unrealistic targets. Awful place to work i got dismissed because the hygiene standards were so bad it made me ill. The staff are very cliquey and management will replace you in a heartbeat if you don't keep up with their targets which are almost impossible to reach You have to scan Disks in 12 hours.
Hours are draining too. Pros Pay. Cons Stressful long hours. What you see is what you get. No benefits of any kind Not much of a culture due to high labour turnover Work life balance is tough due to night shift work but the 4 on 4 off system slightly makes up for that.
Pros 4 days off. Cons Dinner breaks. Rate your recent company Share your experience to help others. Its peaceful work no one madering you. I have been working for this company for the past 3 month and I most say I love this job no one bother you my job is to scan goods in a computer notthing negative about this company.
Pros No. Cons No. I enjoyed working for them i was here for 2 years working in the office ,but left for a job closer to home. Pros free treats. Cons none. Pertains to be a class firm. I am a big music collector and so in a good position to judge their service compared with other companies. In my opinion I think they are being protected by eBay because of the volume of custom they bring.
I cannot judge them as a purchaser of items. The first thing to note is that there is no meaningful quality control: 'very good' discs are often scratched or dirty. At least a tenth are virtually unplayable. I have simply received refunds in those occasions because there is clearly no profit in returning a faulty disc. Often the sale figure is low and I suspect their business operation is just a numbers game with the acceptance of some refunds.
However, I recently bought a Handel 3-disc opera for a far more substantial amount of money. I received a free post address to return it, which I did the same day.
After two weeks no refund, and eBay has closed the case because I took too long to return it. I am seriously considering abandoning eBay, but I have certainly bought my last disc from Music Magpie. It has been fascinating to read these reviews. From my long-time experience, their quality control was never good. But as they have become more successful the operation seems to be more of a scam.
First time using musicMagpie. I purchased an 'unlocked' iPhone for my secretary which I needed up and running as soon as possible. I didn't read reviews of musicMagpie before ordering from them, which is unusual for me, but boy do I wish I had. They are clearly charlatans. I'd just avoid them altogether and shop on eBay, which I've done many times before for similar items and never had nay problems. I first used music magpie roughly six months ago and was initially delighted.
However; the phone I purchased from them and then only used for a few weeks as I was between jobs so gave in my old company phone then got another when trading back it they reported was damaged and dramatically reduced the quote for, when eventually hearing from them - very difficult as my emails where all ignored save for automated ones and they won't speak on the phone. I eventually got my phone back after nealry a month of chasing and sold the next day to a high street shop who rated it A1 on their condition scale - it was a nightmare getting hold of anyone at Music Magpie.
Secondly and more critically I purchased a laptop from them, have only used at my desk and after roughly six months it's stopped functioning totally. It's never had a impact or water spill after roughly a one month wait they return it, no report as to why they're refusing the refund. After again a huge amount of chasing they send an email saying it's been exposed to moisture or dampness, I have a brand new apartment with constant air filtration and conditioning and the laptop never left my desk.
Again it's impossible to reach or speak to someone, I'm now intending on pursuing this through the small claims courts. Without prejudice. Music Magpie may argue about the condition of items, I think in my case they're on thin ice but they have terrible customer support and their warranties seem to not be worth the data cost of an email.
The savings I made by using Music Magpie are hugely out weighed by the time and stress they've caused me. They have sent me rubbish very often without any care. This means every time I do a return, I have to travel costing me and also pay to get the label printed costing me again. Then I end up with nothing, no game I waited for, my time wasted and me losing money. Their pricing sometimes changes so at times you can get a great deal if your lucky and grab it before someone else does similar to MM.
They don't hold as many games as MM do and won't always beat their price but they have been reliable in my experience. Trade-in today! Claim your listing for free to respond to reviews, update your profile and manage your listing.
