Akshat Jain Efi. Yoesran Huda. Each team will investigate an ocean animal and will report back to the class with their findings! You will use the sources I have provided to find out the following information: In what part of the ocean does your animal live? Does your animal live under water, above water, or both? What does your animal eat?

How long does your animal typically live? What are the defense mechanisms your animal uses to protect itself from predators? How does your animal breathe? Does your animal travel in a group or by itself? Finally, why did you choose this animal? After you and your partner have found all of this information, you will report your findings to the class. You can create a poster with the answers to the previous questions.

Include pictures as well as other interesting facts! You and your partner will present your poster to the class. Or you can give a short presentation to the class about what you have learned.

You also can give a PowerPoint presentation. You even can make a video. You can choose any ways you like to report to the class. Together as a class, we will then discover why ocean animals can live under the sea! Be prepared to create new animals which can live in the sea! Step 1: To begin your research project, you will choose an ocean animal from the sources below or you can pick your animal. If the animal you would like to pick is not in the list, you can let me know and I will add it and will provide some resources for you to start.

Step 2: You will research your ocean animal by reviewing the resource links provided on this WebQuest. Step 4: Once you have completed your research and are confident you have all the necessary information, you will begin preparing your report. Step 5a: If you are going to give a PowerPoint presentation, your PowerPoint should consist of a minimum of 11 slides.

One slide for each of the seven questions; plus a title, introduction, conclusion, and references. Make sure you cite all your sources. Step 5b: If you are going to create a poster, you should try to include the questions and answers from step 3 on the poster. If you did not find all of the answers, that is okay. Include pictures of your animals as well as some interesting facts you found. Be creative! Neatness counts! Step 7: Create a new animal which can live in the ocean. You can draw a picture of the new animal and tell the class why it can live in the ocean.

What great work you have done! I am so proud of all that you accomplished and learned! I hope you now know lots of interesting facts about all the ocean animals you researched. Challenge: Can you create a NEW ocean animal? What will it look like? What features does it have that allow it to live in the ocean habitat? How does it fit into the existing ocean food chain? This Webquest is designed for 3rd-5th graders in Science. This Webquest project will help students understand information about ocean animals as well as touch on topics such as habitats.
